MY OPINION – FACT OR CRAP

We in the Transgendered Community, have come a long way, recently, in Education, Laws, Acceptance,

and freedom, by leaps and bounds!

EVEN WITH THE LABELS AND TERMS USED

A few years ago, naturally born women were called “Genetic Females” and we were referred as Cross-dressers, in the Transgendered Community,   I and some others are called “Transsexuals”

Then an intense study was done by the Medical and Scientific Community, and they found that,

Trans-sexuality is caused by “Genetics” !

Hmmmmm.  Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy !  Now I have the reason I was born this way, an answer if been seeking all my life!

AND IT POINTS OUT,  THAT I AM A FEMALE BORN IN THE WRONG BODY!!!!!!

(INDIVIDUALS IN THIS COMMUNITY CAN PLAY WITH VERBAGE ALL THEY WANT}

BUT THE FACT ARE WE ARE NOT, NATAL WOMEN !!!!!

When the above Study was completed, it then allowed us transsexuals to refer to ourselves as Genetic Woman, Justifiably so!

So this changes the terminology in the following manner:

1. A naturally born woman is now referred to as a “NATAL WOMAN”

2. Transsexual woman are and can be referred to as “GENETIC WOMAN”

BUT, WE ARE NOT NATAL WOMEN, AND TO DECEIVE ANY ONE, IN PUBLIC, ESPECIALLY IN THE TRANSGENDERED COMMUNITY IS WRONG !!!!!!!!!   And especially to rely on the ignorance of the public, where they don’t understand the terms, into thinking we are “NATAL FEMALES”

I EVEN TOOK MY OPINION TO THE NEXT STEP, AND CALLED A FEW OF MY LONG TERM FRIENDS IN OUR COMMUNITY AND ASKED THEIR OPINION!

HERE IS WHAT THEY SAID:

1. They agreed with what I said above.

2.  They said it was ok to identify ourselves in public, as being born female and on the internet, etc, which I agree with.

3.  We all agreed. that we can refer to us as females, but the moment it becomes a friendship with anyone, we need to be honest and truthful, and not deceive them into thinking we are “NATALLY BORN WOMAN”

AND I SAY, EXPECIALLY WHEN A PERSON IS TRANSGENDERED, AND PLAYS WITH WORDS, TO DECEIVE US, AS SISTERS IN THE COMMUNITY, ABOUT THEIR TRANSITION!

IT IS IGNORANT AND DISRESPECTFULL TO US AND TO NATAL WOMAN!

MASK OR MIRROR

In our transition,  and for our own acceptance, the anger, sadness and intensity, can at times be overwhelming !

In my case, sometimes to the point of insanity.

The individual who wrote this, has been a Dear friend of mine, for approximately 20 years.

THESE WORDS MAKE ME CRY!

These words reflect me, and probably a lot of us, struggling in our Community, to be free, to be accepted and to be heard.

To my Dear friend who wrote this, and submitted it for my blog, I say to you, THANK YOU.

Not long ago, a couple of months now, it was time to don a mask for “fat Tuesday” and celebrate Mardi Gras.  There are other times when we put on a mask, like Halloween, New Year’s eve parties or any masquerade ball.  There are times when we try to deceive others as to who might be behind the mask.  There are those in our society, unfortunately, who will wear a mask to hide their identity for illicit purposes.  Sometimes we wear a mask to hide and become someone else such as a political figure, action figure  or cartoon character.

Now I stand before a mirror.  Am I creating another mask as I apply my foundation and use color sticks to create a more feminine shape?  Maybe a little powder and blush will make me appear happy if not content.  This reminds me of a movie, “What lies beneath?”  No, I’m not going to the depths of the ocean.  What I might be doing is much more dangerous.  That statement reminds me of my granddaughter.  When ever she did not want to do something when a very young child, she would exclaim, That’s dangerous!”  Is it dangerous to explore the depths of your being?  Water is clear, deep water appears blue just like space, so this calls for blue eye shadow.   And yes, blue eye shadow is back in vogue.  The light brown eye liner and blue shadow bring out the blue specks of my hazel eyes.  Use those eyes, what do I see?  What or who is in the mirror?  The eyes sparkle, they are not empty or dead.  Okay, I am alive, but all that foundation did nothing to hide the deep lines.  Grandmother didn’t have botox.  She didn’t use much makeup, ever.  She called them her life lines.  Are these life lines?  I know what kind of a life she had.  Does the number and depth of the wrinkles tell the story of anger and frustration?  Could it be that if her life or mine was lived differently that there would be no lines?  Well, maybe, smaller ones.

Now to put on the finishing touches of mascara, lip liner and gloss.  How strange, the right eye has long curved lashes and the left eye has nearly none.  Funny, when I was young and growing up all the women in the family used to say what wonderful long lashes I had and too bad they were wasted on me.  Wasted?  On me?  Is that what I am, a waste, to be thrown out with the rest of the trash?  Maybe that is why I won the “Miss Trash” contest a couple of years ago.  Oh well, pucker up, return a smile.  My lips look like my sister’s, rather thin.  I can use the lip liner to make them look fuller but not much.  Now I must remember to curve the liner up at the corners of my mouth.  That’s it, create at least a hint of a smile, try to look happy.  Surprise!  There are not a lot of lines around the mouth, even at my age.  What age is that?  My wife tells me that I should dress my age.  Am I so old that I can’t wear fashionable clothing?  I like my skirts and dress length to cut just at the top of my knee.  She used to tell me that my best feature was my legs.  So, what do I consider my age?  What happened to the girl in her teens?  Where did the young woman in her 20’s and 30’s, looking for a career, go?  Was she ever there visible and not seen?  Am I to be my own grandma?

There is only the lip gloss to go.  Look, look deep!  What is it that I see; a mask or a mirror?  Is this a mask hiding my maleness?  Think of all those lives that I’ve lived and touched; a real family guy and bread winner, Boy Scout leader,  soldier (airman really), university administrator, teacher, church deacon; everyone who has known the “real” me.  Look closer!  Can this not be a mirror, a mirror of what could be or could have been?  Is this a mirror of what my soul cries out?  What is real, mask or mirror, neither or both?  Who am I?

SPEAKING OF MASK OR MIRROR

Why do so many members of the Transgendered Community, wear a mask to hide their, hidden agendas

To express, themselves in one way, but have,  fetishes, denigration, and filth, in their lives?

I WILL SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME.   WE WILL, AND CAN NEVER BE, NATAL WOMEN

We have a right to identify ourselves as women, but, WE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIEVE ANYONE!

Whether it be Religion, Posting, or other forms

And when these individuals express themselves as Advocates and Teachers, in our Community, need to show themselves, with respect, integrity to the Readers of their Life and Transition! Without deception.

And while,  I mentioned Religion

I want to make a statement !

In my life and transition, I have studied basically all the Religions, AND I RESPECT THEM ALL!

BUDISM, PROTASTANT, CATHOLIC, MENNONITE, MUSLIMS, MIDDLE EASTERN, AND A MANY, MANY,  OTHERS!

AND THIS IS MY CONCLUSION

All religions point to one thing!  A DIVINE ENTITY AND/OR BEING!     Maybe it is called God, Goddess or anything else, but they all point to one thing “LOVE”

The pathetic part is that some religions think that their religion, is better than any other, That their Religion has all the answers, but others don’t!

YADDA, YADDA, YADDA

ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED, WHEN YOU USE ANY RELIGION DO DECEIVE OTHERS, TO MAKE YOU SEEM, SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT!

THEN THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL………..

I unfortunately, and sadly, have seen so many of our Transgendered Sisters, kill themselves, because of all the issues above.

There was a young Trans person who was married.  Her wife initially was supportive.  However, one day she visited a site from a transgendered individual;, and not only saw that the person was Transgendered, but involved, in BDSM, other PERVISIONS, And the filth!

She told her husband that she was not going to invest in their relationship and wanted a divorce!

SHORTLY THERE AFTER,  SHE KILLED HERSELF !!!!!!!!!

WHY?  BECAUSE OF SOME OF YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ACLU: PA district is discriminating

The American Civil Liberties Union and its local chapter sent a letter to a Pennsylvania school district this week demanding that it stop blocking LGBT content in its Internet filter.

The letter argues that Governor Mifflin School District in Berks County is violating students’ First Amendment rights with its “sexuality” filter.

The block was reported to ACLU by Governor Mifflin Senior High School junior Maison Fioravante, who was attempting to research LGBT issues for a school project.

She found that she could not access sites that offered pro-LGBT information and resources, yet sites that condemned homosexuality were accessible.

“It’s not only important for support for LGBT students and those questioning their sexual identities to be able to access these sites, but also for students who simply want information for school projects,” Fioravante said in a statement. “It’s wrong for my school to determine that this kind of information is too sensitive for the student body.”

Among the sites Fioravante was prevented from visiting were the organizational sites of Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network, Safe Schools Coalition, Freedom to Marry, the Equality Federation and Lambda Legal.

“Being able to access information on the Internet at the school library is not only critical for academic purposes, it can also be a lifeline for LGBT students in crisis who don’t feel safe seeking support on their home computers,” said Reggie Shuford, executive director of the ACLU of Pennsylvania. “Blocking these sites not only violates the First Amendment, but it does a disservice to students trying to learn about themselves and the world around them.”

Fioravante circulated a petition against the filter that has since generated more than 3,000 signatures.

The district also employs a filter against “intolerant” sites, which blocks political-advocacy pages that seemingly offer intolerant viewpoints. Among the blocked sites are those of the National Organization for Marriage and the Family Research Council, staunch opponents of the LGBT community.

“Regardless of whether you support or oppose legal protections for LGBT people, these sorts of viewpoint-based filters puts everyone’s First Amendment rights at risk,” said Joshua Block, staff attorney with the ACLU LGBT Project. “If you give school officials the power to censor viewpoints they don’t like, they may use that power to block your own viewpoint too.”

The ACLU has asked the district to respond by March 14 with information on how it will address the issue.

 

 

PA lawmakers introduce hate-crimes bills

Two Pennsylvania legislators hope to get an LGBT-inclusive hate-crimes law passed in both the state Senate and House this year.

Sen. Jim Ferlo (D-38th Dist.) introduced Senate Bill 42 in early January, while State Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-170th Dist.) will take the lead from former Rep. Josh Shapiro on House Bill 177, also introduced in January.

The bill would add sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of protected classes in the state’s hate-crimes law. LGBT people were previously protected by the law, but a 2007 court decision lifted that provision.

Boyle’s measure has 32 cosponsors, compared to 40 last session.

Boyle cosponsored Shapiro’s bill in 2011, and was eager to take up the leadership role when Shapiro left the state legislature.

“I was afraid that this could be something that could drop, so I wanted to pick up this fight to make sure we get this bill added to protect Pennsylvanians,” he said.

Boyle said the legislation is needed but that there could be a struggle to convince individuals on both sides of the aisle.

“It is just common sense. Unfortunately, it takes a fight on behalf of those of us who feel passionately that we need to protect all Pennsylvanians,” he said. “This should be something that conservative representatives should get behind.”

Boyle said the bill is vital to protect LGBTs.

“When someone commits such a heinous act, they are not just committing a crime against a victim, but they are victimizing the entire community. Folks who are a part of the LGBT community deserve protection.”

Ferlo, who led the measure for the past several sessions, said it remains a relevant piece of legislation.

“I think we have to continue to be strenuous advocates for this piece of legislation because it is very critically needed,” he said.

Ferlo said he thinks the bill has a chance to pass in the Senate.

“I think if there is any hope, it will be in the state Senate because of the greater number of Democratic leaders. We also hope to reach out to Republican colleagues,” he said. “We need to continue to work among colleagues and have confidence for Republicans to be sympathetic to the bill, at least in the Senate.”

Ferlo’s measure was introduced with 13 cosponsors, compared to last session’s 11.

Ferlo encouraged individuals to press their lawmakers to sign on.

“The problem is we do not have a lot of information out there,” Ferlo said. “We need to unite and work for this. Folks who want to communicate with their representatives should do so with phone calls, letters, setting up meetings, etc.”

The Boy Scouts!  I was a Boy Scout when I was young! My father was a Boy Scout and became a Scout Leader!

I went through the ranks and achieved “ORDER OF THE ARROW”  When I got out of the Military, I was a Scout Leader for many years.  Even working for the higher levels of the Scouting movement.

To keep myself physically strong,

mentally awake, and morally straight.

Hmmmm!   I wonder how many typical people in our Society practice this!

Trust worthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean (in thought, body, and stands for clean speech, clean sport, clean habits, and travels with a clean crowd), and reverent!

THIS IS THE SECOND POST , RELATING TO MY RELATIVES.  IT IS ESPECIALLY EDUCATIONAL FOR THE TRANSGENDERED COMMUNITY, IN REFERENCE TO OUR ACCEPTANCE.  IT SHOWS THAT THERE IS A MANNER TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT US, WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY.  DON’T JUST THROW YOURSELF AT PEOPLE.

WHAT IS OCCURING HERE,  IS ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING THINGS,  IN MY LIFE.  THE ONLY THING I AM SAD ABOUT, IS NOT COMMING OUT SOONER.

THESE RELATIVES ARE VERY CLOSE TO ME.  AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SPECIAL!  THESE ARE THE REPONSES I AM GETTING:

Just wanted to say Hi! and let you know that I was thinking about you.  By the way, I like your pictures, you look great!  I will keep reading your blog, when time allows.

I actually found out that you had a blog from my mother because Diane talked to Sharon and my Mom at the funeral for Uncle Ron.  So, I was curious and goggled your blog and was impressed with it.  When I find time I want to read more so that I can educate my self and understand what you went through and continue to go through.  You did a great job with the website!  I really enjoyed reading your story/journal and have learned a lot just from that.

I am sorry that your children are not accepting.  From what I read, it seems like they want to keep it quiet from their friends and family.  It must be hard for them.  How is “M” with all of this?  If I am getting too personal, please let me know.  I will not be insulted, but just was curious because I am sure it was or is hard for her.

I am going to my Mother’s house with Dakota on Saturday and would love to get together with you, if that is ok or you fill up to it.  We could meet at the Coventry Mall, shop and have lunch.  And yes, you can dress like Jamie.  Think about it.  I would really like to see you, keep in touch and give you the support you deserve.  I think we could have a really good time, but if you’re not up to it, I really understand.  Just let me know by Friday night if you can.

Subject: Hey, Hey, Hey!

I just sent you an email and went on to your website afterword.  Guess I should have done things in reverse!  Thanks for posting my emails.  You are probably fighting a different battle when it comes to relatives not willing to accept you for who you are.  This is a tough subject for the average person.

I work for a really strict company, but truly have fun going to work every day.  My company will not tolerate negative comments about race, religion, sexual preference etc.  We have quite a few gay people at work, which can be difficult at times.  The minute an inappropriate comment is made it is dealt with.  We just can’t do it.  It has definitely taught all of us that everyone is different; we don’t have to like someone, but have to keep our thoughts to ourselves and/or accept the person.  I really love my job and the policies put in place.  They really protect each and every one of us.  Just thought I would pass this on.

Anyhow, you are in one hell of a tough situation.  Most people, especially older ones are set in their ways and just don’t get it or are not willing to try to understand something like this.  You know that.  Most people for the most part are not able to adapt to change very well.  My company works with us to achieve acceptance, change, etc.  I am proud of myself to have achieved understanding of people that are different from me (we have different culture events), accepting people for who they are, and not being judgmental.  Trust me, I would not be working there if I thought or did anything against our policies.  This is definitely a job that I truly enjoy going to each and every day.

By the way, would it be okay to call you sometime soon?  It’s okay sending emails, but I would really like to talk to you.  Promise me that you will consider lunch/shopping.  I need a few things, but would settle for lunch.   Boy, once I get started, I just don’t stop talking.  I was called “Chatty Cathy” as a child.  Stay in touch.

THE LAST WEEK HAS BEEN VERY TRYING, AND INTENSE FOR ME.    LISA BUFFINGTON – A POET, PLAYWRITE, WRITER, AND A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE,  HAS COMPLETED THE FIRST CHAPTER OF MY BOOK,  SHE IS WRITING ABOUT MY LIFE!

THE MODELING AGENCY, WHO RECRUTED ME, IS NOW SETTING IT UP,  FOR ME, TO GO BEFORE, A CASTING DIRECTOR, IN MODELING AND ACTING.

LISA BUFFINGTON,  AND I,  ARE MAKING ARRANGEMENTS,  TO DO PUBLIC SPEAKING, IN SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, AND PRIVATE COMPANIES.

AND THEN, OUT OF NOWHERE, I HEARD,  ABOUT THE DEATH OF A VERY CLOSE UNCLE, OF MINE!   AND,  I WENT TO HIS FUNERAL WITH,  MY WIFE,  ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND 2013,  AND THEN,  AFTERWARDS , A FUNCTION  WAS HELD , AT A LOCAL FIRE COMPANY.

HE HAPPENED TO BE ONE OF THE CLOSEST TO ME,  DURING MY LIFE. HE AND I HAD A BOND,  THAT CAN’T BE EXPLAINED IN COMMON WORDS.  I RESPECTED HIM AND HE RESPECTED ME.   I LOVED HIM AND HE LOVED ME.

My mother, had 4 other Sisters, and five brothers, so I was fortunate, to have many relatives, WHO were VERY close, and all loved each other!  And,  that did not include all my Cousins,  and then their children , everyone had integrity, and cared about each other.   And through out the years our bonds  were very,  very close!

SO HERE I WAS,  DRESSED IN DRAG AS A GUY.  MANY RELATIVES WERE THERE.  IT ALMOST FELT LIKE A FAMILY REUNION.

AS I WAS SITTING THERE, I FELT MANY SUTLE EYES, GLANCING TOWARDS ME.    AND WHEN I WALKED UP TO THE BAR FOR A DRINK, ONE OF MY COUSINS SAID TO ME:  “SO IS IT TRUE, WHAT I AM HEARING ABOUT YOU?”   I REPLIED “YES” 

WE HAD A WONDERFULL CONVERSATION.  IN FACT IT WAS MORE THAN WONDERFUL, IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL CONVERSATION!

SO NEEDLESS TO SAY,  WORD SPREAD LIKE WILDFIRE, AND,  I HAD MORE OF MY RELATIVES COMMING TO ME, AND ASKING.  SO I TOLD THEM!

THIS MORNING WHEN I LOOKED AT MY E-MAIL, THERE I SAW ONE FROM MY COUSIN, AND IT READS AS FOLLOWS:

Hi Jamie,

Wow!  It’s been a long time and a lot has changed.  I am sure you know which cousin I am because I don’t think there is another Cindy but just in case, Kate and Sam’s Cindy

Over the past few years I have heard about what you are going through and today was able to find your website/blog.  I will not begin to say I understand what you are going through, however, I learned a lot from visiting your website.

I do not pass judgment and truly wish you well.  After reading your journey etc., my heart was broken and I was left feeling very sad.  It is a difficult situation to be in, especially after living a tortured life with such a big secret.  I can’t even imagine what you went through (especially as a child) all of those years, but I give you a lot of credit for being a great person and living a good life.  Most of all, I have the utmost respect for you “coming out.”  That’s really the only way to freedom.  Hopefully, one day you will be accepted for who you are today and live the life you have only dreamed about.

For the most part I am a very busy person.   I work a 40 hour job and more at times, am raising my almost 11 year old grandson (we adopted), who suffers from PTSD and a magnitude of other problems and just don’t have a lot of free time.  With that said, I would love to chat with you via email.  I don’t do Facebook etc.  Too busy.  I would like to offer my support and lend an ear when you need one.

You were always my favorite guy cousin and I will miss Jim, but am certain I would like Jamie just as much and who knows, maybe even more. Jaime, you deserve to be happy.  Hang in there, stay strong and write back!   Take care of yourself.  Got to get the kid to bed………………..
